Emmie

“Rift has helped me so much to grow and develop my small business"

Kath met Emmie during a visit to Acorn in Newcastle. Emmie had been creating beautiful crochet items for some time, but at first her only interest came from friends and family. She was passionate about her craft but didn’t think she could make it into a business. With Kath’s step-by-step support in writing a business plan, registering as a sole trader, developing a logo and brand identity, and building her Instagram presence, Emmie was able to transform her hobby into a growing enterprise. Together they researched local markets, and Emmie now has a regular market stall every Monday in Newcastle. Last month was a turning point as Emmie now has markets planned right up until Christmas and she made her first sale on Etsy. Emmie is now working on expanding her offer into home-aesthetic crochet items, which she and Kath will explore further this Wednesday. RSE funded Emmie’s business cards and Emmie got herself a branded table cover to give her stall a professional look. The next focus is boosting her online presence to grow visibility and sales even more.

“Rift has helped me so much to grow and develop my small business, they have helped me gain a lot of new followers and expand my reach to find new ways to connect with my customers, they have given me the confidence to pursue my dreams, and I really enjoy working with them"

BSUA (Kath) – “It’s been brilliant watching Emmie’s progress. She’s totally engaged, completes all actions timely & really tries hard to succeed."
